Tom Clark

Tom graduated from Ohio University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in sculpture and printmaking. He married in 1977 and made Bowling Green, Ohio his home. He and his wife Katherine have three daughters, one son, four granddaughters and one grandson. In 1979, Tom started Clark Fixture Technologies, an industrial quality control tooling business with plants in both the US and Mexico. Tom has been awarded 5 patents. Over the years Tom has served on various advisory boards and has provided technical and administrative support to missionaries, orphanages and businesses in the U.S., India, Uganda, Mexico, Indonesia, and of course Kenya.

Harmon Parker

Harmon is the founder of Bridging the Gap. He was raised in Lexington Kentucky and got an early start in the construction industry working as a master mason for many years. He married his wife Teri in 1984 and they have one son, Joshua. In 1990, the family moved to Kenya and began what has become their life’s work. Harmon constructed his first successful footbridge in 1997 in response to the need from a local village, and word of his work began to spread. In the years since, he has built more than 46 footbridges in rural Kenya. In September 2010, a CNN blue ribbon panel selected Harmon as one of the top Ten CNN Heroes from more than 10,000 applicants worldwide. The award, and the international recognition it brought, was the honor of a lifetime. Harmon hopes it will build awareness for the need of lifesaving bridges for poor communities around the world. In his spare time, Harmon enjoys playing guitar, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Steven Parker

Steven Parker is the Founder/Executive Director of Crown Restaurant Consulting, LLC, providing design and construction management services to clients in the restaurant industry. Mr. Parker brings over 25 years of experience in capital budgeting, scheduling, designing and constructing multiple branded/non-branded restaurants and retail outlets in airports, toll roads and malls throughout the US, Canada and Europe. Prior to founding Crown Restaurant Consulting, Mr. Parker was Vice President of Design & Construction for SSP America, Vice President of Facility Development with HMSHost and held various positions with Marriott International’s Architecture & Construction Group. In his role at HMSHost, Mr. Parker was responsible for the delivery of over 200 new facilities annually and supervised departmental staff including nine project directors.

Tom Richards

Tom Richards is a board member that serves as a regional development director in the greater Philadelphia region. Tom works full time as a special services counselor for the County of Bucks: Youth Facilities and is married with two wonderful children. He has been an active volunteer with Bridging the Gap for over five years. He brings significant knowledge of the nonprofit sector and holds his Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management from Eastern University. Tom is also a 1997 graduate of Juniata College where he attained his B.S. degree in Education. When not working, he enjoys family time, getting outside, working on his house, and being active in his church’s activities.

Stan Synkoski

Stan is a partner in PremAir Hospitality Group, serving as the Vice President of Development. Prior to joining PremAIR Stan served as the President, CEO of In Synk, Inc., providing strategic planning services to senior executives of international food and beverage organizations in the areas of franchise growth, product and concept development, real estate productivity, and customer segmentation mergers and acquisitions. Stan is a graduate of the Marriott Executive Development Program at the University Of Maryland Robert H. Smith School Of Business and he holds a B.S. degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Massachusetts and a MBA from Anna Maria College.

Rob Doughty

Rob is an internationally recognized public relations counselor, whose 35+year career includes corporate communications, internal and external communications, marketing communications, and crisis and issues management for a number of well-known consumer brands. He has held senior level positions for a wide range of brands in the airline, entertainment, hospitality, food service, food processing, higher education, consumer and industrial products fields, as well as in the non-profit realm. Rob served as vice president, communications for the Disneyland Resort during Disneyland Park’s highly successful 50th anniversary celebration. Rob earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Eastern Kentucky University and his M.A. in Organizational Communications from Ohio University.

Justin Edwards

Justin Edwards studied film production at the University of Texas at Austin as an undergraduate before finishing his B.A. in Performance, Production, & Culture at Bowling Green State University. His short film, CRUTCHES, won the BGSU Film Festival in 2003. Justin later received his M.Ed. from BGSU in Career & Technology Education in 2006 and was an undergraduate photography instructor. In 2008, Justin started the World Story Organization and moved to Kenya to deliver film curriculum and training to universities and arts foundations in Nairobi. He recently graduated from the American Film Institute and has begun work as a freelance filmmaker, editor, producer, director, and screenwriter in the Los Angeles area.

Kelley C. Rehm

Kelley C. Rehm is a licensed Professional Engineer serving as the Program Manager for Bridges and Structures with AASHTO (America Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials). She works nationally with all 50 state Departments of Transportation and their Bridge Divisions to manage updates to codes and specifications that are federally mandated for use in bridge design, construction and inspection. She has a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a M.S. in Structural Engineering, both from the University of Kentucky. She is also currently pursuing her PhD in Transportation Management from Vanderbilt University. She has over 15 years of experience in bridge design and construction and brings this technical experience to the Bridging the Gap program along with a national network of many professionals in the bridge industry. She currently resides in Nashville, TN. She enjoys tennis, running, sailing and being Mommy to her two daughters.
